I had done my tours and gone home before TET, I understand part of my unit was surrounded in Cholon. Good place to send out for dinner

C Battery 2/13th Arty was a non divisional 105 towed Artillery Battery, it was attached to 25th ID at Ton Son Nhut for the entire holidays. Normally a battery there would not fire a round. Probably the reason they brought so little. They couldn’t bring any in by road so they only got to use what came in by air. All Artillery fire had to be approved by the ARVN ( and VC). So they got through it with mostly small arms fire

Nice post but the comments regarding the Air Force at Ton Son Nhut AFB was a little off. They had no clue what was happening and except for the Security Forces, no one had a weapon and they were being attacked by up to 6 VC and NVA Battalions. If not for the 3/4 Cav of the 25th Infantry Division, the Base would have been over run.
