Studies tackle who joins the military and why, but their findings aren’t what many assume

It is but it ends up pretty unclear about the reasons. I do think that the 9/11 join up was patriotic; it seems to depend a lot on what is going on in the world and in our country.

I have always maintained that the military is simply a microcosm of our society, some good, some bad, some in between. Therefore, the reasons for joining would be just a varied.

It does make one think that's for sure.
