Thank you, my friend LTC (Join to see) for posting an unlikely scenario
1. Could Israeli air strikes in Syria trigger war between Israel and Russia?
No, Russia has been supporting Syria for may years. Their military personnel have come under fire and no doubt some have been killed.
2. Some people have been focusing on climate change since the nuclear winter was a dire threat :-)

To the nuclear winter fear mongers I say, visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 2019.

While focusing on Russia, most have either forgotten or have not considered China. China has had a plan for 50+ years to rise to global dominance. They have watched Japan's conquest of the Pacific, and have seen how they succeeded and how they failed. China has been taking notes.
While we have been playing in the sandbox for 18+ years, China has been building up it's military forces through homegrown research, theft of technology from the West, and reverse engineering military hardware (Liaoning aircraft carrier). They have been building and buying landing craft for a decade or more (there's only one use for landing craft when you're China). They have been modernizing their intermediate range and intercontinental ballistic missile forces.
They have been building aircraft carriers and air wings for them. They built-out the Liaoning after buying it from Russia. They have used that template to build a second, and at least four more are in production. Six carrier battle groups is significant. I have read that China has been wargaming attacking American ports in Japan and Guam.
China recently flew armed aircraft over the Taiwanese side of the Taiwan Strait, a very provocative move. And we all know about China building airbases, ports, and other military facilities in the South China Sea, claiming de facto ownership of the region. Their "Coast Guard" has been escorting fishing fleets into the area, driving out other foreign fishing vessels; again, laying claim to the area.
Here's how I see it going down: China will mount a blitzkrieg-style invasion of Taiwan, forcing the US to either fish or cut-bait regarding defending Taiwan. Due to our style of bureaucratic bumbling, Taiwan will fall within a couple of days. Next will come a IRBM attack on US port facilities in Japan. The Japanese naval Self Defense Force will be shredded quickly. The US will of course rattle our sabers and condemn the attacks in the UN, and then argue about sanctions. Meanwhile, China will keep island hopping, keeping US carriers at bay with their own carrier battle groups and submarines that carry the alleged "carrier-killer" missiles. Hawaii will once more be the American frontier in the Pacific. Heck if China feels extra froggy, they may set their sights on Hawaii as well. Once China gets rolling, they will be tough to stop, and they won't be hobbled by WW2 Japan's limited resources (POL products).
So the next time you talk about an "existential threat" to the world, better think about China. If not, Chinese may become the next default language of aviation, seafaring, and anything else international.

The Sum of All Fears (2002) - Aircraft Carrier is Attacked
A clip from The Sum of All Fears (2002) - Aircraft Carrier is Attacked Enjoy!
Thanks for putting facts and figures to back China's desire to force Taiwan to be part of Mainland Communist China.
In the late 90s, the Officer magazine had a story calling China something like the awakening of the sleeping dragon. It warned about China's military going from a defensive to an offensive one. The Green, Socialist Progressive Walter Mittys worry too much about the environment and overlook the obvious most likely enemy course of actuon like Taiwan, South China Sea, India-Pakistan nuke war and previously mentioned likely future scenarios that could cause a nuclear war.

My only problem with any/all of this is that China has two keys in its pocket *RIGHT NOW* which don't require much bloodshed.
1. They make virtually everything we use. Anyone dumb enough to feel/believe that Chinese electronics everywhere from Wallstreet to Pentagon don't have trojans built-in.........well...I have a bridge to sell you.
2. China has shaken off a lot of American monetary ownership much like Walt Disney bought land: under false names. If I don't believe my own government, I sure as shit ain't gonna believe the Chinese! In other words, I still feel that China owns more of America's debt, finances, etc, than people let on. Again - the rich don't just suddenly stop being rich (gallows/guillatine notwithstanding...).
So in a nutshell, China could EMP us to death rather easily by use of BOTs and other junk that we don't/won't defend against because "no one can build a plane to shoot it down..." Also watch 'merican reliance on drones take a nose dive into the toilet. China still holds a ton of financial instruments that have "Made in the USA" on them. Were China to suddenly "call in the notes" etc, America would be crapping itself.
Last but not least, China watches Germany amassing power thanks to Russian natural gas. What if China could take untold bajillions of tons of Russian gas and be the sole salesperson for Asia? Much like Germany has done in Europe? Hmmm... Could that be why China is rebuilding Russia's Eastern rail infrastructure? Nah...

Climate change has been going on for Millions of years and way longer than humans have even exited. These so called "Green Deals" are nothing but a huge scam to steal Your hard earned cash.! Nothing like paying double on You electric bill even though your using less electricity ! This scam is widespread all over the both Canada and the United States. He have a lot of other things in this world that actually are happening and get ignored even though they are very serious. Seems that Socialism/Communism is creeping into our society just as some Communist leaders of the past said it would. Stupid is alive and well !

Yet many Republicans refuse to acknowledge that Russia used to be Communist.
