LOL, the new normal. Seen that article before and watch it be proved wrong as it was in the 1980's and 1990s.

It all really depends on the side of economics one is really looking at. My portfolio did quite well under the Obama Administration, shows growth.

SCPO Jason McLaughlin - First I was fortunate because I have the Financial Background and past experience with deep recessions, I started investing in 1970 with my Father's help when I was a kid. However, my Mother lost more than 50% because her Financial Advisor was an idiot. So it is very easy to lose 50% if your relying on a Friend that has no clue what they are doing, posters here should hold back on the insults in that regard because based on what I read so far here and on other boards very few know how to measure their investment returns or where and how to invest properly so it's like your throwing a stone in a glass house when you suggest your smarter than everyone else and then post "I did wonderfully from 2008 to now"........yeah thats great but your ignoring your investments before and few of us here were born in 2008.

SCPO Jason McLaughlin - Not all of it, but a few of my oil plays fell pretty hard.

Considering what W left him, President Obama has led the country to a very good comeback. Employment is up, recession is gone, and we are not throwing away money on Iraq.

PO2 Peter Klein After 8 years it's still Bush #43's fault. First POTUS to never overcome a 3% GDP. 95 million people of working age unemployed. 10.7 million more use food stamps, a 32% jump. I'm not sure I would call that a success.

Once again you can't lame others. When W. tried 6 months after he became President all of you yelled foul. Now you are blaming W 8 years later. Talk about double standards. Get real.

The reality is that Republicans resist change till it is too late. W had a GOP Congress and they wouldn't help him.

MSgt C Madd - It is a changing world. People need to be flexible and read the tea leaves, if you will. If your industry is in trouble you need to go back to school and get retrained while you have a job.
