Oregon: Have A Gun License, Go To Prison, 300,000 Oregonians Would Be Felons

Wow what a misleading headline. Let me fix it:
Have a Gun License, bring your gun someplace where you aren't supposed to have it, USE your gun, then MAYBE go to jail; Criminal Oregonians may become felons.
Look, I think this is a bad law. But the law does not instantly make Oregonians felons. It creates more spaces that firearms cannot be carried, even with a concealed carry permit. Having a gun license will not be a crime, as the headline implies. Carrying your gun into a prohibited area and USING it is now subject to criminal punishment, even if the shooting is justified. It allows public entities to remove "affirmative defense" (i.e. justified shootings) from their grounds. Owning a gun or a license is not outlawed here. Even CARRYING the gun concealed in these areas is not outlawed. USING the gun, however, would be.
And I highly doubt 300,000 Oregonians are going to carry a concealed weapon onto public ground AND use them AND use them in a case of affirmative defense.
