LTC (Join to see) For my civil marriage by a 'Registrar' in Edinburgh in 1992, a witness was required. The soon to be wife dashed out of the building and came back with a pair of witnesses!
After the ceremony, I offered the young husband 20£ as a gratuity. He said, "No thanks, we are doing fine.' In response to my query re: his employment, he said, 'We're on the Dole.'
And Britain cannot afford a Navy?

Cpl Mark A. Morris - I knew one of the flight attendants who lost her life and Lockerbie Scotland. She was from La Palma California and she was in the same play that I was in 9th grade. She was in the alternate cast of Merchant of Venice. She played Portia. She loves Shakespeare so much that she went to stratford-on-avon to live and learn more about Shakespeare in England. It's ironic, her love of Shakespeare cost her her life. Her name was Jocelyn Reina., PanAm has a web page in her memory.http://clippercrew.com/pan-am-crew-flight-103/jocelyn-reina/#comment-8974
