New virus has infected more than 34,800 people globally

I'm not saying we shouldn't be cautious....but let's look at the numbers:
According the the article, more than 37,800 globally. Let's just...for argument sake...round that to 38,000. With a global population of 7.8 billion people, this means that 0.000004 percent of the global population is infected with this virus. Based on the numbers that this articles gives, while present in 25 countries....out of 195 in the world....this is not really proving to be a pandemic.
Again, I'm not saying that we should throw caution to the wind, but what I am saying is that we should not be freaking out over these numbers. There is more mass hysteria than there are actual cases.
