This is really eye opening. These fossil records shows us they were much more emotional and caring than we previously thought. I will proudly wear 'Neanderthal' if I get called this again as it means I'll care for the less fortunate like they did.
There are human civilizations who didn't do this. He'll, Iceland wouldn't do this right now.

They're finding more and more that the Neanderthals were much more complex than previously thought. They invented the first industrial process in manufacturing waterproof glue from birch bark to hold the spearheads on the end of their spears. They basically heat the bark in an oxygen free environment to extract the pitch, which they then roll into a sticky resin ball. It is a complex process that requires constant monitoring of the temperature, burying of the materials in the ground to create the oxygen free environment, and removal at just the right time.

In Read The Entire NOVA Article And Wasn't All That Surprised,
I've Been Watch PBS For Years, As Well National Geographic.
And BOTH Deal With This Manner Of Historical Research...
