Military Experts, Leaders Say 'Up or Out' Promotion System Outdated

Thanks for sharing PO1 Tony Holland. In 1992 I was separated involuntarily based on the up or out principle in the post Desert Storm RIF.
Since I was Regular Army I had an option to accept a commission in the USAR which I did. I was instantly promoted to Major and served until almost my mandatory retirement point of 20 years of commissioned service. By the grace of God I was promoted to LTC and able to serve in support of OEF and OIF and other operations.

It sure is about time we took a good hard look at this! So many good people lost.
