I remember it well at Fort Bragg, the M551 Sheridan shot the Shillelagh, at Bragg that was the biggest armored vehicle I saw there.

CW5 Jack Cardwell
82nd was the last unit to have them. I did turret repair on them when I was with the 3rd ACR 1974-78.

CW5 Jack Cardwell - If I'm not mistaken, the M551 was dropped on the LZ by having a chute drag it out of the rear end of a C-130, as the plane was still moving.
