I will watch this later. The Germans like other armies in history predicted quick victories which were inevitably mistakes. The Germans did not have enough forces to control the whole outside of the city. Shelling buildings created good fighting points for infantrymen. Much of the supplies were done by horse drawn wagons, and the Russians used a scorch earth policy to prevent the Germans from living off the land.
