We demand public safety and then bitch when it has to be financed. This spending for weapons is not a liberal vs conservative issue. Much of the money required by these various agencies came under Bush II after 9-11 when those agencies were tasked with missions not usually associated with them.
We also have had the drastic increase in mass shootings, requiring even more protection.
I can agree with the idea that our governments spend more than seems necessary. But I do not for one minute believe there is some vast conspiracy to subdue the populous and move toward a dictatorship.
By the way, if you believe our 1st Amendment rights are being threatened, you are correct. By Trump!

1. I don't follow any of those sites, so I cannot make an educated comment on anything that happens there.
2. Trump is the one that is constantly complaining about the media, going so far as threatening to revoke their FCC license. That is suppression of the free press. The 1st Amendment guarantees a free press.

MSG Stan Hutchison - An FCC licence is not a constitutional right, there are obligations and responsibilities on each licence that is issued, but on the topic of media bias and free press, I wonder why the story of Hillary Clinton and Russian uranium sales has gotten almost no coverage. I mean it is not like we had a cold war on the subject of nuclear materials with Russian at anytime in the recent past.
I hate to tell you this if you don't already know the cycle, but Media is a business, and unfortunately one of the major products that sells today is confirmation bias to people in political cults.

But if you choose to remain uneducated on the topic...well you will make a good citizen in the new world order I guess if we are going to go all 1984 about it.

Perhaps an FCC license is not a constitutional right, but freedom of the press certainly is. When Trump threatens the free press he is threating all of us.

And, if you wish to conduct a discussion with me, please leave out the personal comments. I am very well educated on our system, our Constitution, our history, and what is currently ongoing in the media, on both sides.
