Jackson Pollock comes and goes with me, Maj Marty Hogan. Some of his work is admirable and beautiful, but much of what hangs from museum walls and hailed as masterpieces could have been painted by my one year, four month old twin grandchildren.
Michaelangelo he was not.

How true, some of his work looks like they knocked over several cans of paint went through C-36 prop wash.

Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that January 28 is the anniversary of the birth of American painter and a major figure in the abstract Paul Jackson Pollock who was well known for his unique style of drip painting.
I was struck that he died less than two months before I was born.
I was never a big fan of his art as I appreciated the grand masters and the impressionists much more than drip-style paintings. I even liked much of Andy Warhol's paintings :-)
Rest in peace Jackson Pollock.
