It's a liberal thing. We have laws that address something that they choose not to enforce, and it helps create/exacerbate the problem, so what's the solution? MORE LAWS! It looks stupid, but it's really more sinister than stupid, because the goal is social engineering, which wouldn't be accomplished if they simply allowed the laws on the books to be enforced.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - Is that seriously even a question? Have you paid no attention at all to the political and media aftermath of school shootings?

Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Liberals love to claim that background checks work, because look how many hundreds of thousands of ineligible would-be gun purchasers were prevented from buying guns*. However, it's a crime for an ineligible person to try to buy a gun. How many of those people were prosecuted? Pretty close to 0%. When there's a shooting somewhere, liberals say we need more gun laws, including expanded background checks. Conservatives say enforce the damned laws we already have. It's a decidedly liberal thing -- don't enforce the laws we have, so we can push for more laws.

*According to The Trace dot Org, a group that tracks gun violence, more than 2 million people have been prevented from buying guns due to background checks since 1998. The Trace says about itself, "The Trace is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit newsroom dedicated to shining a light on America’s gun violence crisis."

For some people ideology always comes first. They can't see through the echo chamber.

Here's my question.. We all know there's a black market for arms just like everything else. Why don't we ever hear stories on the news about those rings being busted like we hear about drug busts or prostitution?

There was some goofy bastard last year who got busted with a semi trailer, full of rifles mostly, in his backyard.

Perhaps because the ATF is that incompetent, even more so than the Fat Boys Institute?
