What a great story. The ties to different eras and players is what sets baseball apart from all the other games. Players know the history of their game much so than football and basketball players as do the fans. I personally am a Golden Era fan. I still love today's game, but I really love reading about baseball and the players of the 1920's up into the 1960's.
"We're talkin' baseball!
Kluszewski, Campanella
Talkin' baseball!
The Man and Bobby Feller
The Scooter, the Barber, and the Newc
They knew 'em all from Boston to Dubuque
Especially Willie, Mickey, and the Duke"
Terry Cashman, 1981

I "know" 'em all, even gotten personal autographs from a number of them, but not so much with these new guys today. Baseball, somewhat like the Democrat party, has changed more than I can handle.

SSG William JonesI don't like alot of the changes Baseball has made either. I don't know many of the players anymore. I will say I despise the showboating, especially right after hitting a home run.
