My suppressed work is more of a custom thing with a Ruger Scout in 223. I've been using a gas check cast bullet loaded light for varminting out to 100 yards or so. Since a heavier hunting bullet at much higher velocity is vastly different, I have two base settings on my scope. I just have to remember which one it's on. I do that by keeping the suppressor on after I clean the rifle so I know where it's at. Do my adjustments when removing the suppressor and I'm good to go. I have to make changes anyways when changing loads, especially when using VLDs. I do agree there's more to manage. Index cards are your friend.

CAPT Kevin B. Appreciate the anecdotal reply. Always nice to have an experienced hand in the pot.

Interesting... but I don’t see the point of a suppressor in hunting applications. At least not in the type of hunting that I do.

SMSgt Thor Merich If it's just Me, plugs or muffs are fine. Taking some adolescents along might be different.
