Thanks for honoring Col Gail Halvorsen whose role as the Candy Bomber in the Berlin Airlift endeared him to so many youngsters and their parents in West Berlin during Operation Vittles.

Lt Halvorsen's C54 coming in to Berlin to drop His candy bombs, there were many German children waiting to retrieve the candy He dropped with His home made parachutes as can be seen here.

What a great story. Sadly today he would be admonished and then sued by someone on the ground.
