Interesting. Indeed very interesting. My dad was a Mason. He was also a Southern Baptist Deacon. My oldest brother was a Southern Baptist Preacher. He was not a Mason. I remember them discussing my dad’s Masonic Membership. In the later years of his life my dad stop going to “The Lodge”. I do not recall him ever saying why. He just stopped going.

Some of the Southern Baptist Conventions have been among the most ardent anti-Masonic organizations around. Your dad may have stopped going to Lodge just to get them off his back or he may have considered his participation as being awkward for his brother. He may have just stopped going because. Many Masons are not active or become inactive for any of a number of reasons.

@TSgt Joe C. I always wonder, how many RP Masons have bern to a military style lodge?

I will never forget attending the French Lodge just west of downtown in Los Angeles.

They demanded an absolute display of Faith.

Besides that, my friend, a LAPD LEO was carrying. It was a very warm night, Ed said, “I can’t take my jacket off, I am wearing a shoulder holster”.

Been to Lodge in many different jurisdictions but never had the privilege of adding a military Lodge to the list. Was supposed to go to a French Lodge in Quebec a number of years ago, but ended up being sent on an audit by my company and had to miss it.
