Shafik's departure comes in the wake of a series of scandals that have roiled the school stemming from the anti-Israel and frequently anti-Semitic protests that roiled the Morningside Heights campus over the past several months.
The most recent led to the resignation last week of three deans following a Washington Free Beacon report revealing the offensive, anti-Semitic text messages they exchanged during an alumni reunion panel on Jewish life held in late May.

To bad the Mayfield KY police Dept won't resign. Had a incedent last night and they treted me like dirt. But that is what happens when some one hates your religion!!!!!!!!

It's a start, but it's not enough. Faculty members involved with generating the hate should get axed as well, and their names sent out to every other university so they know about why they were axed. There's a substantial difference between making remarks for the sole purpose of generating open debate in the classroom vs making known their own political beliefs and shoving them down the throats of the students. I've encountered both kinds of professors. The former make up among my favorite ones and brings back good memories of college. The latter: I withdrew from their classes in relatively short order.
