Regardless of how WOKE the Army is becoming, I predict (Behind the scenes) in the long run, promotions for this young CPT will be few and far between. Most like another check mark on his way to political office. I could be wrong and have been.

SSG Samuel Kermon - Not if he was just doing all this for eventual political points.

If he wasn't in a duty status and didn't put his Guard affiliation anywhere, he has the 1st Amendment right to free speech.
However, I hope he didn't plan on the guard as a career

I actually read both articles that are the subject of his GOMOR. In the first, the first line in his bio is that he is Colorado National Guard Officer. The second article, the sub heading of the article headline says he is a National Guard officer.
I don't know what the current regs are, but when I was in if he had said nothing about being a Guard officer he wouldn't have had a problem. He can protest and what not, as long as he doesn't show his military affiliation anywhere.

Agreed. He stepped on it by putting his Guard affiliation in his bio for the paper.
