Orson Welles was asked by Tom Snyder during a TV interview, "You've performed on stage, screen, and in radio dramas. Which was your favorite?" Welles quickly answered, "Radio drama". When asked why, he replied that it was the best form of drama, the one in which the audience participated rather than sitting by passively. It was my favorite too for the same reason. The scenes, especially the monsters, that I envisioned were far more believable to me than anything stage directors and special effects artists could create.
