The National Catholic Reporter, a progressive-leaning newspaper, has come out against the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett in a scathing editorial, saying her “moral relativism" should rule her out for a Supreme Court seat.
In the editorial, the staff of the National Catholic Reporter called for the United States Senate to reject Mrs Barrett’s nomination based on her responses during her hearings about the climate crisis, as well as how the Senate treated an open Supreme Court seat after Justice Antonin Scalia died in 2016.
“The hypocrisy is rank, and it is impossible to see how rushing this nomination will be good for our democracy,” the editorial read, calling out Republicans “double standard” for blocking President Barack Obama for filling Justice Scalia’s seat so close to the election in 2016 while putting forth President Donald Trump’s nomination in 2020.

This woman would probably be one of the best Justices to ever serve on the court. Her record is impeccable, her responses in the nominations have been spot on, and they couldn't attack her character or her record. they don't any cleaner than her...hell there ain't no skeletons rattling in her closet because if there were they would have found them and brought them out. Timing sucks but the President has a duty and well he is exercising that duty by nominating her. Great choice IMHO.

Well my liberal friend PO1 William "Chip" Nagel on a day when the Pope speaking unofficially declared he supports civil unions for homosexual couples, it is unsurprising the progressive-leaning newspaper 'National Catholic Reporter' considers her to be morally relativistic ;-)
No doubt they Associate justice Scalia to be morally relativistic based on their definition of morality.
It is ludicrous on its face but unsurprising that this regressive [litmus test advocating organization] demonstrates over-the-top umbrage that a post-Bork candidate for the court would not directly address a viewpoint on an issue that the Supreme Court would be likely to weigh in. She shocked and shamed the democrat members of the Senate judiciary panel by answering their questions without notes.
