As of now, Daesh or no other extremist group has taken credit. However, the timing is interesting, since they arrested one of the key players in the Paris attacks and there were rumors swirling that Daesh would seek immediate retribution for his arrest.

LTC (Join to see) This was my first thought. Also something that bothered me was that I think it was the day before yesterday Abdelsalam's attorney released a public statement saying his client is "cooperating" with authorities. I thought this was odd.

CPT (Join to see) - Well he's an attorney, and "cooperating" could mean an abundant of things. He obviously wasn't cooperating enough to inform them of pending attacks and potential locations.

That was sad but not unsurprising news SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. Radical Muslims are able to operate relatively easily in areas of Belgium and France and hide within the Muslim communities of those nations.
last week the DC metro was taken off line for a day. I was sure at the time that at least part of the reason was to deal with a creditable threat. Nobody has stated that but this is a target rich environment for all sorts of groups which hate us.

Unfortunately it is also relatively easy to carry out attacks in the US.Have you road the NY Subway system or NJ Transit? Sure we have some Army guys on standby, but it's not going to stop much.

SrA Edward Vong - I expect the sharing of actionable intel between DHS, DOD and CIA, NSA, etc. is much better than it was at 9/11/2001.
I think the counter-terror and interdiction prior to planned or impromptu attacks being executed is a DHS issue. They certainly should have the lead in this nation and I expect they could use some of the state NG assets. This would be effected through NORTHCOM if necessary.
