Boeing delivers first Grey Wolf helicopters to Air Force - Breaking Defense

After more than a year of delays, Boeing has delivered its first four MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters to the Air Force after the aircraft was finally certified by the Federal Aviation Administration. While all four were delivered by the end of last week, the Air Force actually received its first MH-139 on Aug. 10, which then took off on its first mission with an all-Air Force crew days later on Aug. 17 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., the service stated in an Aug. 24 news release.

Makes sense though. Can't rely on the Army or Navy to handle all the emergencies that come up and need immediate resolution. Everything from Rescue of Pilots, to delivering Command personnel to the front/ concerns elsewhere.
Places that have no landing strip/ airport, or are time sensitive matters needing the capabilities of Non-fixed wing aircraft/ airplanes can take off / land.
