Whatever respect I had for this man is now gone. He wants to justify being "black" as being poor and having to scuffle your way out of the ghetto. Sorry Dr. Carson maybe it was you who left your "blackness" in Chicago when you made it out of the projects. For him to say Obama was raised white is an overt insult to Blacks in particular and people as a whole. I am a brat. I went to DoD schools, and public schools. Where I lived up until DC was predominately white. So I guess by his standard I'm not "Black" but am "White"? RP I could only WISH you'd bring him on here for a REAL QnA session. I would like to know what the hell being "Black" is. Maybe I need to get arrested, make a crappy rap CD that uses all the usual words, and catch phrases, have my pants around my waist, and THEN I'd finally be "Black". Racism in itself is bad. No other way to spin it. But when it comes from within your own, it almost makes you feel like you'll never make anything of yourself...aside from what your "peers" want you to be. Sorry your so angry. You must become comfortable in your own skin. Do not let other define you. we have been condition to" dish" those who don't fit a definition of Blackness. There is no single Black experience. There is no place that issues Blackness.

SSG Warren Swan I'm not either one, so I don't know that my opinion counts much. I don't think biological or sociological parameter should be used to define any person and those that use one or the other as a tool to attack each other are only showing their own insecurity. I wouldn't worry about what he says, this was a ploy to get time in the news and gain publicity for his new book. That is all. Look at other gaffs he has had this is just the latest one in a long line and as a result of doing these things he is losing his appeal to the vast majority.

When Carson first entered the race I asked a friend who I thought would be strongly on team Carson, his opinion. I felt this person would have insight for multiple reasons but mainly because he is an amazing surgeon as well. He told me at the beginning that he would not support Carson and Carson exhibits many of the noted personality characteristics for someone in his profession. He followed up by sending me links to Carson's prerun writings, speeches, and video to underline his point. All I can say is that what my friend shared with me in those early stages has played out and continues to do so even now.
