Part Three of today's Twofer+1 Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) edition is "A Deep Sky Behind an Eclipsed Moon." This composite image was captured in the Canary Islands during the May 15-16 lunar eclipse. A stray meteor was caught in the act by one of the 10 consecutive frames used to produce this photo. Mouse over today's APOD and you will see (from left to right) the Milky Way, Rho Ophiuchi, the meteor, and (of course) the Dark(ened) side of the Moon. I wonder if Pink Floyd had something like this in mind back in the day.
