Politically, we may dislike each other, but as Americans, we are a good, if not great, people helping each other in times of need.

True, and helping our fellow Americans is what We should be doing and many are. We have people even from Massachusetts down there helping after the terrible destruction and death in that storm area. When We have had events such as that in Massachusetts We even had people from Canada as well as other states coming in to help. We may not be able to control much of what nature piles on us but We can still help each other recover !

We have a collection point here in Loudon County where people drop off supplies and private pilots fly them into affected areas. They have both planes and helicopters at the small airport.
