APOD: 2024 September 28 - Rocket Eclipse at Sunset

Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the September 28th edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD). On September 17, 2024, SpaceX launched two more Galileo L13 navigation satellites for Europe. This late afternoon launch provided the opportunity to have the Falcon9 rocket "eclipse" the Sun on its way up. The booster returned to Earth some eight minutes later, completing its 22nd successful launch aboard the autonomous spaceport drone ship (ASDS) Just Read the Instructions.
