Netanyahu is responsible for freeing the hostages. hamas is. Bibi is just insuring the hostage takers and war wagers get their 72 virgins in the afterlife. For some, they won't be able to pick anything up in hell, or hear Satan barking orders.

Bibi is not at fault here. I would have preferred he ignored our idiot administration and locked down Gaza entirely (no humanitarian aid through) and this would have been over in a less than a month imo.
