A far cry from the earlier drones I had seen in Vietnam where they actually flew on a single small jet engine.

Wow, that is the first I heard about drones in VN. Being an aviator in a Combat Assult Company I am surprised that such information didn't reach us. Thank you for that informative post. Still learning things 50+ years later. Maybe I'll get a letter advising me of this so we can be well and timely informed.

SPC Michael Duricko, Ph.D - I actually had seen those drones return, land and them retrieve the intelligence film from them. They were actually used to fly over enemy positions. The wingspread was about 11 feet as I recall and of course not I was pretty surprised the first time I saw one return to the base.
