America's newest warship will carry a piece of Australian history with it when it's commissioned this weekend. The USS Canberra will be the first American navy vessel to ever be commissioned outside of the United States. It's currently docked in Sydney and will enter active service in Australian waters. Joining Sunrise to discuss is the Commodore of the USS Canberra, Marc Crawford.

Non-nuclear powered ships are welcomed in Australia. We actually could probably work out basing with them using this type of ship on a long term basis. I've heard that they have loosened their restrictions a bit on nuclear powered vessels, so submarine port calls are also available now.
