This quasi- military lodge is near the volcano. I walked on the crater floor when it was dormant..

Yes, Kilauea Military Camp is there with some lodging etc. (not a very big place) and even an Exchange service station which I used to gas up My rental car. Me and one of the guys I worked with at Hickam AFB. HI One of the national park place's , the Volcano house we had lunch in and that overlooks a large inactive crater with only steam vents showing. The active crater with activity We much has watched it a good hour and an half with all the activity there and lava shooting up etc. We went all over that, the first and only time I'd even seen anything like that.
