Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jackie Gleason) is on a mission to find his son’s runaway fiancé and truck driver Bo “Bandit” Danville (Burt Reynolds) has no idea what he’s gotten himself into when he finds her hitchhiking on the side of the road. As Carrie (Sally Field) abandons her wedding dress inside Bandit’s car, the two are pursued by the unrelenting Texan police force.
