Glad it finally caught up with him. I was wounded on 3 Sep 70 in Quang Ngai Province's Nghia Hanh Valley. I was medevevaced to the 27th Surg. Hosp. and presented the PH by the ADC(M). My medal, certificate and orders were stowed in my duffle bag and destroyed when a 122mm rocket hit our supply area in the brigade rear.

When I cleared division to go home, I did not see that they had failed to post my PH in my OMPF. When I got to my next duty assignment, a clerk noticed there was no PH in my records and I had to take it off.

I applied for reinstatement of the award and finally, in 1981, they found my treatment records from the 27th Surg. Hosp. and 6th Convalescent Ctr. in Cam Ranh Bay and cut me new orders and sent me a new medal and certificate from HQDA. . . .
