Ann, thank you for sharing this article with us. When comes to babies and young children, there is nothing that a caring person wouldn’t do to save a child or their own child’s life. Thankfully when a young mother is faced with this heartbreaking decision this is a safe way and it’s also the right thing to do for all involved. I pray for our children daily because this world can be cruel. Even though we’re all trained to end a life, we also have the compassion to save a life and that’s what makes us a better human being. Again, thank you Ann for sharing this with us. Semper Fi
This is something new to me, Sgt (Join to see)! It seems like this is an alternative to abortion..., but not something I know a thing about...

It's basically an enclosed box entryway into a building. The idea is that these would be located at a facility like a fire station where someone works 24/7. The location is somewhat secluded so the depositor of the baby is able to place the baby in the box knowing that there will be someone on the inside to take care of the baby. Better alternative to other methods...

Sgt (Join to see) This alternative is a much better alternative than abortion! Also, someday the adopted child may go look for his birth mother, find her, and both may be overjoyed at the reunion. (This is what my adopted son eventually did and it all worked out well).

SFC Greg Witte - Greg, I agree with your comments, it’s a sad situation however, it’s the right thing for the child and surely better than some of the terrible, barbaric things I’ve seen on the news lately.
Yes, they have been very useful in the other places that they have been used. Far better than an overwhelmed single new mother just snapping, or leaving the baby at a Walmart and then being jailed/punished for it. There are plenty of people who would love a baby.
Now they just need to make it easier to adopt to actual stable families, without all the extra costs and such.

Child Protective Services can be an annoying agency to deal with. I actually think they work harder to prevent adoptions.
