I hope the family member got the crap kicked out of him or her. A total abuse of what the law was intended for.
Personally, I don't like the red flag laws and I like to see the done away with.

Red Flag Laws are illegal. Why? Because when you defend yourself in court you’re supposed to face your accuser. But Red Flag Laws circumvent that law because you face the state legal team representing your accuser. There’s abuse on all levels.

Wellness checks are absolutely vital, and are (or at least should be) completely different from red flag laws.

It is a shame the state troopers got this one wrong.
