Expanded US training for Ukraine forces begins in Germany

The U.S. military's new, expanded combat training of Ukrainian forces began in Germany on Sunday, with a goal of getting a battalion of about 500 troops back on the battlefield to fight the Russians in the next five to eight weeks, said Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Milley, who plans to visit the Grafenwoehr training area on Monday to get a first-hand look at the program, said the troops being trained left Ukraine a few days ago. In Germany is a full set of weapons and equipment for them to use.
Until now the Pentagon had declined to say exactly when the training would start.
The so-called combined arms training is aimed at honing the skills of the Ukrainian forces so they will be better prepared to launch an offensive or counter any surge in Russian attacks. They will learn how to better move and coordinate their company- and battalion-size units in battle, using combined artillery, armor and ground forces.
Speaking to two reporters traveling with him to Europe on Sunday, Milley said the complex training — combined with an array of new weapons, artillery, tanks and other vehicles heading to Ukraine — will be key to helping the country's forces take back territory that has been captured by Russia in the nearly 11-month-old war.

Let me point out that Armor and Infantry OSUT for the US is 22 weeks to train these guys up to able to serve in as a tank crew or in an Infantry Squad. We train Infantry and Armor Officers for the better part of a year before we allow them to lead a Platoon. Just how much will the addition of 500 troops make when they won't be ready for the battlefield until next summer at the earliest if we are actually serious?
Handing high tech equipment to marginally trained troops without a logistical train to support both the equipment and troops is suicidal to the troops involved.

CPT Lawrence Cable no I haven't heard but that makes sense why president zelinsky of Ukraine doesn't want to cease fire because he knows it's a refit and re-arm for the Russian forces and then a new offensive.
We know that formal neutral countries near Russia now are joining NATO.
Well stupid President Biden keeps pushing for climate change mitigation at the expense of our military and our economy and giving money to China for Hardware that won't work when it's not funny or if the wind stops blowing, we are in a world of hurt..
That's why you've heard me harping for the last 2 years. It limited nuclear war will Foster climate change so why bother spending money on trying to lower the temperature when it won't work anyway but a nuclear war will do it for us even though it will cost famine Millions will die who knows how many major cities will be destroyed both on the Russian and American side? I don't think Vladimir Putin is going to allow himself to get taken out by one of his own military personnel.
The newest member is North Macedonia and now we have Finland and Sweden applying by invitation but I doubt Ukraine will be accepted fearing Russian nuclear weapons.

Only my oil stocks are doing well because president bidens idiot Federal Reserve and his desire to be anti-supply-site economics means the only way he can still the economy down is by destroying it and raising interest rates so my stock portfolio is down 33% with the exception of oil and energy stocks. As you can see, Russia is surviving on increased Seaborne oil exports.

LTC (Join to see) - The latest update from Col. MacGregor on Ukraine/Russia Conflict. Of note, his assessment of casualties of both parties. As I pointed out above, I don't see anything that says that Ukraine as the training, leadership or even just the simple logistical channels to support these complex systems and if MacGregor is close, they have lost most of their trained Army already.

LTC (Join to see) - The Russian Sanction aren't working because about 90% of the world doesn't give a damn about Ukraine. For that matter, when have sanctions ever changed regimes or power structures in a country. We still have had sanction on Cuba and the Castro Regime is still in power.
