My comment, "This is interesting given the capital of weapon violence and death delineates the handgun as the major weapon used on offenses and deaths in Illinois with the emphasis in the city of Chicago. Obviously, that means the answer is to ban the so-called "assault weapon".

Stupid is as stupid does! Last time I checked it was a whole lot harder to conceal a MSR (modern sporting rifle) on one’s person than a handgun!

The bill also bans bump stocks. I thought I remembered reading that SCOTUS ruled that un-Constitutional.

You are correct - The supreme court did not approve of the law. They may have rewritten the bill into Illinois law with different verbiage. Because they use taxpayer money the effort or expense is irrelevant to the policymakers. SFC Casey O'Mally
