The Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota forbids card-carrying good guys — you know, law-abiding citizens — from possessing legal self-defense tools there. Criminals, on the other hand, are perfectly free to disregard the “no guns” signage and have done so for years.
So when two “groups” of teens had a mostly-peaceful disagreement Friday evening during pre-Christmas shopping, things went sideways when one of the participants pulled a gun and shot a 19-year-old multiple times, killing him.

One reason I avoid malls. If I have to go do a mall, I ignore the signage. In GA, if they see a weapon in a no gun zone, they can ask you to leave, if you refuse, only then are you subject to a misdemeanor.

People should sue the " gun free zone " sign makers. The signs aren't working.

In SC, any such signs are required to be exactly a certain size and with exactly the prescribed wording, or they're not valid. Also, they have to be at every entrance. If you enter through an entry that doesn't have a sign, then the mall's rule is invalid for you. I carry concealed anyway, so only observe such a rule where guns are prohibited by law, like courthouses, police stations, state or federal buildings, post offices and banks.
