Congressional leaders have just five days left to reach a deal on a full-year funding plan for fiscal 2023 or trigger a partial government shutdown on the eve of their planned holiday break.
Lawmakers earlier this fall passed a short-term budget extension that runs through Dec. 16 as negotiations continued over a full-year budget plan for federal operations. Now, with that deadline fast approaching, no deal has been finalized.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL This Bull$hit again. Congress needs to get their head out of their a$$ and get with the plan. Funding our country isn't an option; it's a necessity.

They haven’t really had a true budget in 20 years. They just pass stop gaps till they get a “ budget that balances itself in 10, 14, 16,… years . That is ,,, if they don’t spend more in the year ahead/ future years, and they always find reason to spend. Thus breaking the budget and kicking the can further down the road.
