So, as pointed out in the last paragraph, DoD regulations stipulate that no more than 4% CAT4 recruits can be enlisted.

Did they change this somewhere, is this another case of "The heck with what higher says, we're going to do what we want", or is this something else?

Cpl Vic Burk - You caught the tail end of this project. A buddy (Marine Corp) that was in country during this time frame said that he had guys in his platoon that couldn't read, didn't follow instruction, couldn't read a map or use a compass and mainly got killed. I didn't know if I should believe him at the time.

It was another action of many that Robert McNamara put in place that killed American warriors. He included the best and brightest in his moronic ROE declarations. Cpl Vic Burk

Times are desperate because patriotism is antithetical to the CRT/woke/self loathing philosophy of our present DOD, JCS and lesser leadership.

Cpl Vic Burk - I went in, in 1979 and after basic & AIT I got to my first unit in Germany in early 1980. There were NCO's that had came in during McNamara's project, they were so messed up it wasn't funny. I had one E-6 squad leader (who should of had a platoon) that would inspect us in the morning and gig us for having messed up uniforms, while it looked like he had just pulled his out of the bottom of his duffel bag, you could det a quart of oil out of his head gear, his boots looked like he waved a unopened can of kiwi over them. There was a E-4 (SP/4) that had been in the company for over 10 years and I was told that he'd never get promoted again. When I PCS'd to ft. Stewart GA. in early 1982 it wasn't much better. It wasn't till the late 80's that it started to change, but I still had a E-7 platoon Sergeant that could hardly write. The last I heard he was a first sergeant at Ft. Benning.

You want something really fast really bad you are going to get it REALLY FAST AND REALLY BAD! Lowering standards only causes problems further down the road. All it is doing is kicking the can. If they don't meet our standards now, they will be a first Sergeants/Commander's nightmare when they get to the fleet. Not doing anyone in the name of numbers. How about you fix what you have and offer retention bouses, get away from this woke crap...maybe you won't have the issues you have had in the past and people walking out. Just my two cents!!!

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth Your comment is a sound and proven plan but gets in the way of ideology and power struggles. It does look like taking the Jab will be removed as a requirement in the Armed Forces, however, they have yet to agree to bring back those fired because they refused the jab. Time, expenses, and hits to even our SOG operators, including dismissals were idiotic. (SNARKY - They wonder why enlistments are down)

With all we know today about the effects of COVID shots amongst the variant population this is pure stupidity on the part of this administration.
