Thanks for reminding us about the invention of bread slicers SGT John " Mac " McConnell. I wonder what the catch phrase was before "the best thing since sliced bread," was used in 1927 and earlier. Perhaps it was the "best thing since the wheel" or for military folks "best thing since the rifle" :-)
