Apathetic voters get what they deserve. The wonderful thing about carrying a device in your pocket, is that any little down time - finish coat drying, med office waits, coffee time, etc., - is time to fire off a blast to your elected reps. Doesn't matter if you voted for them or not. Like kids, left alone, they'll do something stupid.

What I find interesting if we replace Republican with Democrat and Democrat with Republican, the same exact story could be read by Democratic voters and feel the same way many Republicans feel when reading the story as is.

CSM Charles Hayden - That's the problem. Running for, and staying in, federal office seems to mostly attract people who want the position and power, not to serve the people who elected them. They then spend their time in office putting on theater to get elected again but doing very little to try and make the country better. I mean if they can get some stuff done and get elected again, sure they will do it. But for most their primary concern is getting elected again.

You know that fiery blast you send to your reps... The secretary operating the phones email typically trashes it as spam.. Your better off going on a twitter trantrum that will get you a bigger audience.

County board meetings?
Town halls by state and federal reps?
Show up and sound off . (Why not? Retired, still vertical, most pieces-parts OEM, opportunity for a drink or two at San Augustine's. Never forget we the people fund these excercises in smoke blowing)
