A massive stretch of mountains and valleys, where World War II soldiers from the Army's 10th Mountain Division trained to snowshoe, ski and rock climb for their fight in the Italian Alps, will become the nation's newest national monument.

Very nice but the issue I have is the federal government owns well over 50 % of the land in the West and they keep putting up new barriers to keep citizens from utilizing the lands.

I know. I thought about that as well. They used to allow ranchers to have animals graze on them but that's become controversial too...

The 10th Mountain Division definitely needs this recognition and Honor. The public will get the opportunity to see how the 10th Mountain Division trained for their mission in WWII, in the Italian Alps, back at home.
