We are in trouble; not making the necessary numbers and many who would like to join don't qualify

Yep, because the woke will not sign up and those who would sign up are turned off by the woke-ism of the military.

Yes, we are. Kids aren't dumb as we think they are. They see the news and they read and especially on social media. They read posts from Active-duty members and their friends about having to do all this woke crap and not train to fight and they don't want any part of it. Any organization that wants to recruit people has to stand apart from all the others...offer them something that they can't get anywhere else. We used to be about that. But here in the last two years we have transitioned to being like the outside and treating it as a job versus a calling. We have relaxed grooming standards, allowed people to wear certain articles of clothing due to personal preference, and force woke training down folks' throats. We are trying to make it look like society instead of making it look like we are different. So then why would anyone want to be part of that? That is where we are.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth Sad state of affairs with our military these days. Our standards have gone down the toilet. It should be an honor to serve in our military.

Cpl Vic Burk - Should be but unfortunately with today's young folks they don't see it that way. Just a different generation and our parents probably said the same things about us.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth - My students who have shown an interest in joining I encourage them to do so regardless of which branch they choose. I'm proud of my service to my country as most who came to the call of duty. The last thing I want to see is the draft reinstated however, it may come to this. Just think how woke it will be then while these crybabies call home to tell Mommie that the drill instructor called them a pussy today. (I avoided the draft; I never registered and joined at seventeen!)

The draft was long gone by the time I came along. But I enlisted at 17 cause I knew it was the right thing to do. It matured me and gave me a sense of belonging and a mission. Todays generation might just go into a fetal position and suck that thumb if they get yelled at...for most it will be the first time in their lives!
