Really? Really!? I thought social media platforms were PLATFORMS and therefore had NO editorial rights!

This isn't the first time we've struggled with the propagation of rumors, lies and false information in our society. In many ways the struggle is similar to what we faced with Yellow Journalism. Just like then we have private entities pushing a combination of factual information, rumors and lies and the public unable to discern the difference.
