Good evening, Rallypoint, and welcome to the August 2nd edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "A Moon Dressed Like Saturn." This bit of photographic conjuring was first featured in March 2020, and makes a repeat appearance here. The Moon is actually in a crescent stage, and the bulk of its surface is illuminated by Earthshine. It does give you an idea of what it might look like to stand on the surface of Dione (one of Saturn's moons) and look up.
