Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall said Wednesday that some of America's aging A-10 Thunderbolt combat jets could potentially be given to Ukraine as part of continued efforts to help that country repel Russian forces.
Kendall made the comment at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado on Wednesday evening after he was asked by a moderator whether the A-10, also known as the Warthog and which the Air Force has been slowly retiring from its fleet while encountering congressional resistance, could be given to Ukraine.

Lt Col Charlie Brown I'm all for helping Ukraine defeat Russia but is any other countries giving the Ukraine anywhere near the amount of support the United States is providing? We are getting dragged into this war.

Only if we replace those A-10s with the latest generation. A-10s provide a capability that no other plane can provide.

Have never grasped why it's in our best interest to continue funneling billions of U.S. treasure into this corrupt region. Misapplication of the old domino theory? It is said that we have little to no accountability checks on where the money goes. We are making Putin rich. When the dust settles, how many new Ukrainian billionaires will we have created? Besides, we enjoy coffee on the patio while watching the A-10s returning to DMAFB from the Goldwater range.
