Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the June 12th edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Find the Man in the Moon." Have you ever seen shapes in cloud formations? More to the point, have you ever seen the 'Man in the Moon'? Mouse over today's APOD and you will see him. In either case, you have experienced pareidolia, or seeing an image where there is none. The less fancy way of explaining what's happening: 'your imagination is playing tricks on you.'
This image was taken in January 2016 in Cadalso de los Vidrios in Madrid, Spain. The 'support staff' with the telescope provides a nice touch.

This is a good one, Maj William W. 'Bill' Price! Without the highlighted areas, I might not have recognized the "Man in the Moon"! LOL! What really is cool is the shadow image of the observer with his telescope!!! Thanks for sharing this, Bill...
