APOD: 2022 June 3 - A 10 000 Kilometer Galactic Bridge

Good Red Friday morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the June 3rd edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "A 10,000 Kilometer Galactic Bridge." Who says South will never meet North? All it takes is timing and two cameras. At one end (top) is the Observatorio El Saucé (The Willow Observatory) in Chilé. That's the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds just to the left of the dome. At the other end is Observatory of Saint-Véran in the French Alps. The Andromeda Galaxy is just also left of that dome. The earth-bound distance between the two? Only 6 hours and some 6,200 miles (10,000 km).
